| | Eat more TwinkiesJanuary 12, 2012 - Nancy Tullis The breaking news of the business world this week is that Hostess Brands, Inc., filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy Wednesday, citing debt and labor costs. The 82-year-old Texas based company has some 19,000 employees represented by 12 different labor unions. Thankfully, company officials will continue to operate during the reorganization. What a relief. It's hard to imagine office vending machines and school lunchboxes without Ding Dongs, Sno Balls (in seasonal colors, mind you) and cupcakes with curly-q icing. GM and Chrysler survived with the help of bail-out money. But I think Hostess can survive the old-fashioned way, with Americans stepping up to purchase the iconic, Made-in-USA snacks. I plan to do my part I wonder how much Twinkies and Ding Dongs cost by the gross? Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | Blog Photos![]() |
