Thanks & Spanks

SPANKS, writes a reader, to St. Clair Township for the dim lighting along state Route 170 in Calcutta. It’s hard to see when it’s dark, and especially when it’s dark and rainy. Brighter bulbs would be nice. SPANKS, as well, to East Liverpool for its lack of highway lighting, which makes it harder to see at night. Isn’t this a safety issue?

SPANKS, writes a reader, to the local transportation company that hires friends and family of supervisors instead of those who are qualified to do the work.

THANKS, writes a reader, to volunteer coaches at the middle and high school levels who actually have some knowledge of the game to provide to our student-athletes. SPANKS, though, to those who are merely doing it to get “Little Johnny” more playing time.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to East Liverpool officials for not painting the proper lane markings at the intersection of Dresden Avenue and Webber Way, especially since more traffic flows through that area due to the closing of the lower portion of Lisbon Street.
