Thanks & Spanks

THANKS, writes a reader, to those who donated at the recent tag day held by the East Liverpool Lions Club. Donations go to help children with vision problems.

THANKS, writes a reader, to Jeff and Cindy Anderson for the work they did to get our new sign in Frederick Heights. THANKS, also, to everyone who contributed to pay for it.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to whomever is in charge — the city of East Liverpool or ODOT — for the lack of highway lighting from the downtown to Mulberry Street. There were exactly five lights lit!?! — on both sides of the highway. Why can’t these lights be fixed? The city has received ticket money with its new program that is supposed to be for the police. Well, police means safety, and safety means “lights.”

SPANKS, writes a reader, to motorists who fail to come to a complete stop when the law demands it — a red traffic light or a stop sign.

THANKS, writes a reader, to volunteer youth coaches. SPANKS, though, to those adults who attend games and think they can do better, but never try.

THANKS, writes a reader, for those responsible for seeking funding to eliminate/repair the washboard brick roadway between Market and Washington streets in downtown ELO.
