Thanks & Spanks

SPANKS, writes a reader, to East Liverpool and Wellsville officials for holding their citizens hostage with traffic cams in order to get money. SPANKS, too, for buying real estate with citizen’s tax money.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the man who paid for my items at Walmart. This past Tuesday afternoon, while checking out, I found I had left my credit card at home. The very nice cashier held my order while I returned home to get my card. Upon returning, the cashier greeted me and told me the gentleman directly behind me in line had paid for all my items. What a wonderful gesture! I will surely do the same for another person. Many thanks! God bless you!

SPANKS, writes a reader, to impatient motorists on the highway who have no respect for the Amish as they operate their horse-led buggies.

THANKS, writes a reader, to those who continue to assist law enforcement by offering tips, which often lead to the arrests of criminals.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to Pittsburgh Pirates’ manager Clint Hurdle for continuing to put Tony Watson in the closer’s role despite his continued struggles, which have cost the Pirates much-needed wins. It’s time for a change.

THANKS, writes a reader, to those volunteers and city leaders who have continued to work to make sure the J. Burchfield Cartwright Municipal Pool is open each season at Thompson Park.
