Cost savings?

Dear Editor:

As a resident of Pennsylvania and a vehicle owner, effective Dec. 31, 2016, PennDot no longer issues vehicle registration stickers. This part makes sense, good goal.

But, however, they go on to say that the elimination of vehicle registration stickers is cost savings.

“Cost Savings.” Really?

As part of the process, vehicle registration fees not only went up from $36 to $37, state cost, also Beaver County and most, if not all, counties in Pennsylvania, enacted a $5 local fee which funds transportation needs in each county. With the aforementioned being said, where is the cost savings and convenience here to all vehicle owner customers, when vehicle registrations went from $36 to $42 a year?
