‘Shop with a Cop’ seeks donations

Dear Editor:

The act of giving comes from the heart and touches so many. As the holiday season approaches, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Association respectfully asks for participation in the 28th annual Shop with a Cop Program with an in-kind monetary donation.

Through contributions we can reach our goal that every child in Hancock County will receive a Merry Christmas filled with joy. We are proud to share that last year, more than 600 children participated in the program with more than 7500 children being served to date. It has been because of the investment and active involvement of the community that holiday dreams were able to come true for these children.

Because of friends throughout our communities, we can continue to provide children in need with holiday gifts during our shopping day scheduled Dec. 18, 2016, at the Kmart in Weirton. Applications to participate in the program are available at the Chester and New Cumberland Sparkle Markets, in Newell at the Marathon station, and in Weirton at Penn Way Pharmacy and Kmart.

We cannot continue to serve the community if it weren’t for the help of the community.  If anyone feels it in their heart to donate, they may mail a donation to: Shop with a Cop, P.O. Box 2206 Weirton, W.Va. 26062
