Students did the right thing
During a time when political correctness seems to run rampant on college campuses, at least some students remain courageous enough to use their heads.
A week ago, the Youngstown State University community awoke to find a large rock on campus had been festooned with messages promoting the Islamic State terrorist group. “YSU supports ISIS,” one proclaimed.
Apparently not. Nearly 60 YSU students quickly gathered at the rock, taking paint and brushes with them. Quickly, the pro-Islamic State slogans were covered by a large American flag and the words “God bless America.”
The students drew widespread support and praise throughout the university.
Good for YSU. And good for the students and university administrators who backed them up.
On some campuses, it seems, common sense and patriotism still hold sway.
