Frank Block

SALEM –Dr. Frank (Francis) Robert John O’Block 86, of Salem, passed away at 9:07 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, at Salem North Health Care Center.

He was born on July 4, 1932, in Greenford, OH, the son of the late Frank E and Barbara (Mikicic) O’Block. He is survived by his sister Patricia Chizmar of Salem.

He was a brick layer apprentice with John Hollinger and attended Salem Trade School.

He served in United States Army from 1952-1954. He received a BS from Science of Youngstown State University in 1959 and taught one year at Austintown Public School.

He retired in 1997 after some thirty-seven years of active work.

There will be a time of visitation from 5-7 p.m. of Tuesday Sept. 11th with prayer service at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, and from 10:30-11 a.m. in the vestibule of St. Paul’s Catholic Church on Wednesday.

An 11 a.m. Mass will be held on Wednesday Sept. 12 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Bob Edwards officiating. Those attending the service are asked to gather at the church on Wednesday morning. The Salem Honor Guard will be rendering military honors. The burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
