Tom ‘Turtle’ Cline, 67
NEWELL — Tom “Turtle” Cline, 67, of Newell, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018, at home, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Newell, W.Va. on Feb. 8, 1951, a son of the late Chester and Helen (Shroades) Cline.
Mr. Cline was a veteran of the United States Marines. He was a member and past commander of the Newell American Legion.
He was a Safety Specialist at Weirton Steel and a member of the WS 25 year Club. He was a former member of the Newell Volunteer Fire Dept. Tom played pool for the East Liverpool, Chester and Newell Pool Leagues. He played softball for the American Legion and Eckleberry Insurance and he also coached softball.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Destiny; and three brothers and a sister, Larry Cline, Buck Cline, Ruth Ratkovich and Herk Cline.
Surviving are his wife, Sandi (Taylor) Cline of Newell; four daughters, Sheri (Bucky) Mack of Newell, Michelle (Ted) Kordecki of Rogers, Ohio, Monica Cline (Chris Miller) of Calcutta and Loni (Jon) English of Chester; eight grandchildren, Tommy, Taylor, Jonathan, Aaryn, Alyssa, Sasha, Cole and Chloe; a great-grandchild, Aiden; a sister, Ginny (Short) Richey of Michigan.; and two brothers, Terry (Susan) Cline of New Manchester and Kimmer (Nancy) Cline of New Cumberland.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV, where funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018. Entombment will follow in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, WV.
The American Legion Post 121- VFW Post 6450 Honor Guard will conduct military services.
