CLERMONT, Fla. — James O. Cross, of Clermont, Fla., formerly of East Liverpool, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his home in Clermont. He was 86.
Born in Parkersburg, W.Va., Aug. 31, 1931, he was a son of the late James Earl and Nellie Irene Barnett Cross. He worked at the former Crucible Steel Company until retiring. At one time, he was a member of the Calcutta United Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Peg” McCoy Cross, at home. There are two sons, Terry R. Cross of Clermont and Kenneth W. Cross of Groveland, Fla. He also leaves 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren, a sister Betty Deem of Portsmouth, Ohio, and two brothers Oliver “Bud” Cross of Georgia and William Cross of Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons: James “Jimmy” Cross, Steve Cross and Randall Lee Cross, and a daughter, Elizabeth A. Cross.
Friends may visit Thursday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m. Rev. Dr. Stephen Cramer will conduct a funeral service Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
