Robert ‘Bob’ Jones

CHESTER — Robert “Bob” Jones, 84, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at his home in Chester after a long battle with cancer. He fought a good fight, with his family by his side.

Born in Chester, W.Va. on Nov. 15, 1933, he was the son of the late Clyde and Beulah (Hoskinson) Jones.

He served in the United Sates Navy. Bob attended Wells High School and received an associate degree from Pittsburgh Institute of Art. He was a retired artist from Homer Laughlin China Company.

Bob was a member of the Masonic Lodge 22, and a 32nd degree mason of the Scottish Rite. He attended the Newell Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed spending time with the McDonalds Breakfast Club. His gift of art, doodling and cartoons on napkins are displayed in restaurants thru-out the local area.

Bob will be remembered most of all for his love and devotion to family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara (Hamilton) Jones of Chester, whom he married June 25, 1954; a son, Robert (Lori) Jones of Calcutta; two daughters, Marsha (George) Rowland of Chester and Jill (Bill) Cataldo of Wellsville; five grandchildren, Breann, Lisa, Jared, Patty and Nick; seven great-grandchildren and a brother, Paul Jones of Ohio.

A grandson, Zachary preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, W.Va., where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018. Entombment will follow in the Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Newell, W.Va.
