Kenneth Shuman, 85

NEW CUMBERLAND, W.Va. — Kenneth Shuman, 85, of New Cumberland, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018.

Born Oct. 14, 1932, in Sistersville, W.Va., a son of the late John and Mary (Rice) Shuman.

Kenneth was a payloader operator for the former Globe Brick. He enjoyed the outdoors, he was a hunter and fisherman, and he truly enjoyed his chewing tobacco.

His first wife, Lucille Straight Shuman, and second wife, Norma Boso Shuman; a son, Kenny Shuman; a sister, Ruth Wells; and three brothers, Richard, Donald and Tom Shuman, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his two sons: Jim (Cindy) Shuman of Chester and John Shuman (Donna Siebert) of East Liverpool; a daughter, Cheryl (Junior) Lamp of Newell; four stepsons: Randy, Bryan, Doug and Kevin Jackson; six grandchildren: Becky, Kenny, Karen, Sarah, Cheryl and Amanda; and eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Kenneth was also survived by two brothers, Bob Shuman of New Cumberland and Gene (Sue) Shuman of Pennsboro; and a sister, Mildred (Chuck) Riggleman of Colorado

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, W.Va., where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018.

Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, New Manchester, W.Va.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Hospice of the Valley.
