Betty Jane Hardman, 87
CHESTER – Betty Jane Hardman, 87, of Chester, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Stonepear Pavilion in Chester.
She was born Feb. 15, 1931, in Hookstown, Pa., the daughter of the late George P. and Hazel (Leister) Beck. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death on May 18, 1991, by her husband, George V. “Cork” Hardman, whom she married Aug. 20, 1954. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Beck.
Betty graduated from Hopewell High School in 1949. She was employed as a sample operator for the former Sterling China Company before retiring in 1991. She had also been employed at The Orchards at Foxcrest as a receptionist since its opening. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Wellsville Arts Club, and she also coordinated a monthly prayer luncheon that was first held at the YMCA and most recently at Peachtree Inn. Betty was a member of the Wellsville First Christian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Lori Householder and her husband, Tim, of Wellsville; and two sons: Jeff Hardman of East Liverpool and Jamie Hardman and his wife, Amy, of Wellsville. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Lindsey and Shelbie Householder, Katie Hardman (Cory Barnhart), Eric Hardman, Taylor (Luke) Cartwright, Brandon (Rachael) Hardman, and Chelsea Hardman; and four great-grandchildren: Anna, Ian, and Benjamin Hardman, and Tyler Barnhart.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the church officiating.
Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
