PAMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Joyce Anne Wilson Williams Smith, born Oct. 9, 1943, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Nov. 30, 2017.
Joyce was proceeded in death by her parents, Roy H. Wilson and June Spivey, and her grandparents who raised her, Newell and Martha Spivey.
Joyce resided in Pompano Beach, Fla., for the last 14 years. She was a former resident of Newell, W.Va., where she and her husband (now deceased), Art Smith, owned J & A Marathon. Joyce graduated from Chester High School in 1961. She then went on to study English education at West Liberty State College, graduating in 1966.
Joyce was a loving mother to her two children, Jay (Deanna) Williams, who she affectionately nicknamed “Randy,” and Elizabeth (John) Stoffel, who she lovingly called “Betsy.” Joyce was also blessed with five grandchildren, whom she adored: Ryan Williams, Kristina (Joshua Weltner) Williams, Marisa Stoffel, Haeleigh Martin and Jillian Williams. Recently, Joyce was blessed with great-granddaughters Gracelynn and Raelyn. In addition to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Joyce is survived by her dear friend, Sarah Sweeney Krepski.

Special thanks to the many caregivers Joyce had while residing in Pompano Beach, all of whom Joyce loved like family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chester Public Library or West Liberty University.
Loves ya, Momma. Loves ya, Mamaw. How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard? You may be gone from my sight, but you are never gone from my heart.
