EAST LIVERPOOL — Ann Marie Kauffman, 92, passed away at East Liverpool City Hospital on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, after a lengthy illness.

The daughter of the late Guy and Maria (Sapienzo) Gulutz, Mrs. Kauffman was born in California, Pa. on Feb. 16, 1925 and lived most of her life in this area. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and attended East Liverpool High School, at one time she had worked at the former T.S. and T. Pottery, and alongside her brother Frank, at East Liverpool’s first pizza shop.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Kauffman, in 1999.

She is survived by one son and his wife, William and Nancy Kauffman of East Liverpool. Five grandchildren, Dr. Melisa Morse of Hiram, Ohio, Neal Kauffman of Chippewa, Pa. Joseph Kauffman of Chester, Erika Kauffman of Pittsburgh and Kristopher Kauffman also of Pittsburgh and eleven great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by three sons, Michael, David, and Mark Kauffman and nine brothers and sisters; Anthony, Lewis, Frank, James, Elgie, and Thomas Gulutz, Jessie Acon, Jennie Scafide, and Angela Galipo.

Ann spent a great part of her life caring for her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Through her life of sorrow, her gentle smile always remained, there are no tears in heaven. She is with them all once again.

The family would like thank the Calcutta Health Care for making her long residence there pleasant, especially nurse Rosie and caretaker, Carol.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Holy Trinity Parish on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at 10 a.m. with Fr. Peter Haladej as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Columbiana Co. Memorial Park.

Visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes from 3-7 p.m.
