Harold Franklin Congrove, 83
WELLSVILLE — Harold Franklin Congrove, 83, of Wellsville, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at East Liverpool City Hospital.
He was born July 15, 1933, in Wellsville, the son of the late Howard W. and Lucille (Yost) Congrove. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death on May 21, 2011, by his wife, Rita (Leatherberry) Congrove, whom he married May 10, 1957. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William Congrove.
Harold served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed for twenty-nine years as a yard foreman for the former Ohio Edison Power Plant before retiring in 1991, and he was a member of American Legion Post 70.
Survivors include four daughters: Lynn Henderson and her husband, Skitch, of Wellsville, Lisa Cochran of Calcutta, Lana Congrove of Wellsville, and Kara Pierson and her husband, Sam, of Wellsville; and one son: Gregg Congrove and his wife, Cindy, of Wellsville. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
A private funeral service will be held. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
