Rita Eleanor (Padilla) Adams, 91
Rita Eleanor (Padilla) Adams age 91 of Louisville, loving mom, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Jan. 10, 2017 after a long battle with Dementia/Alzheimer’s disease.
Rita was born April 30,1925 in Aliquippa, Pa. to the late Benito and Catherine Padilla. Rita worked at Moon Mist and Merit Plastics. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Mary Church and a member of Alter and Rosary Society. Rita’s favorite pastime was crocheting and making things for her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Calvin W. Adams, daughter Judith Shumar, son Calvin (Bob) Adams, and brother Joseph Flores.
Rita is survived by her son Larry W. (Cathy) Adams, daughter Marilyn (Martin) Fausnight, and daughter-in-law Sue (Greg) Adams/Noll, all of Louisville; grandchildren, Aryck Adams of Calif., Jason (Carrie) Adams of Fla., Angela (Anthony) Palomba, Larry (Melissa) Adams, Stephanie (Dave) Grant of Mich., Andy (Lesli) Fausnight, Michael (Michelle) Fausnight of N.C., Sherry (Mike) Petros of Ga., Bob Adams of Calif., Nicolle (Matt) Hergenroder, Callie Adams, and Anna Noll; twelve great-grandchildren, Bailley and Carter Petros, Jacob and Aletha Fausnight, Mason and Madison Hergenroder, Payton Grant, Luca Palomba, Emma and Kenzi Adams, Liliana Adams, and Madeleine Fausnight.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of St. Joseph Care Center for taking care of “Feisty Rita”. Many thanks to Crossroads Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Rita and her family.
Rita’s family will receive friends Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. Her mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg with Rev. Fr. Nicholas Mancini officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
