Virginia E. ‘Jenny’ Cagot, 85
COLUMBIANA –Virginia E. “Jenny” Cagot, of Calcutta, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016 following a short illness. She was 85.
Born in Monroe County, Ohio, Nov. 25, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Harold Denver Harmon and Sarah Thompson Harmon.
She was a member of the Grace Baptist Temple. In 1967 she began working at the former First National Bank, which later became Bank One, until her retirement in 1990. Jenny enjoyed gardening and spending time with her dog Lucky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Cagot, Jr. The couple married Sept. 12, 1980. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Lucille Cline, a brother, Herbert Harmon, and a brother-in-law, Chester L. Cline.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews: Cheryl Varsho, of Lisbon, Lanny Cline, of Calcutta, and Terry Harmon, Greg Harmon, Troy Harmon, Karen Lucas, Sharon Fox and Brian Harmon, all of Marietta, Ohio, as well as two step-sons, Harald Paul “Hal” Cagot and his wife, Diane, of Seattle, and Jack E. Cagot and his wife, Leslie, of Bloomingdale, Ohio.
She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Geneva Harmon of Marietta, and many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Friends may visit Thursday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m. Rev. Steve Forsythe will conduct a funeral service Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
