Morris E. Jones
WELLSVILLE — Morris E. Jones, formerly of Midland and now of Wellsville, passed on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, following ongoing health issues.
A son of the late George Peter Jones Sr. and Clementine Pack Jones, Morris was born on Aug. 2, 1963, in Rochester, Pa.
Prior to Morris’ health problems making it too difficult to work, he had been employed by Hicks Roofing as a roofer and carpenter.
He attended the First Baptist Church in Midland and was a graduate of the former Midland High School.
A veteran, Morris served his country with US Army.
In addition to his parents, one brother, George P. Jones Jr., preceded him in death.
He leaves his fiancee of several years, Jo Anne “Jodie” Duncan, at home; his children, Kelly Duncan of Wellsville, Sheena Jones Capelety of Cleveland, Morris E. Jones Jr., Bryan Jones, and Darnel Sallis, all of East Liverpool; his sisters, Phenelope Bonita Jones of Midland, Rhonda Jones-Matthews of Midland, Valerie Jones of California, and Mary Joyce Mize of Pittsburgh; and several grandchildren.
Rev. Cordell Fountain will celebrate Morris’ life at the First Baptist Church in Midland at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, where full military honors will be accorded by the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group and the National Guard Honor Guard. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the services at 1 p.m. Interment services will be private, when Morris is laid to rest alongside his mother at Oak Grove Cemetery in Industry.
