David P. Wycoff, 56
EAST LIVERPOOL –Lifetime East Liverpool resident David P. “Dave” Wycoff passed away suddenly at 2:59 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 at East Liverpool City Hospital. Dave, who was 56, had just finished working his afternoon shift at Penn Power when he became ill.
A son of the late Robert D. and Martha J. Starr Wycoff, he was born in East Liverpool on Dec. 21, 1959. He was a beloved father, brother and friend.
A 1978 graduate of East Liverpool High School, he began working for the Kroger Company almost immediately and later became a manager at Billingsley’s Foodland. More recently, he had been a foreman in the coal yard at First Energy at Shippingport.
Dave never knew a stranger and was a familiar face at The Bar, a longtime downtown East Liverpool establishment, especially after taking over the ownership upon the death of his parents. He was a hard worker, but also loved sports of all kinds. He especially enjoyed playing golf and basketball.
His daughter, Claire, survives him in Lisbon.
Also surviving are his brothers and sisters: Robin Moadus and her husband, Dave, of East Liverpool; Lauren Fontaine and her husband, David, of Reisterstown, Md.; Leonard Wycoff and his wife, Lisa, of Lisbon; Tom Wycoff and his wife, Mari, of Alpharetta, Ga.; and Greg Wycoff and his wife, Terri Lynn, of Cary, N.C. There are numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Friday, where the family will be present from 3-8 p.m.
Dr. Robert Cuttica, Deacon of St. Christine’s Parish in Youngstown, will officiate at services to be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Dave will be laid to rest next to his parents at Union Cemetery in New Manchester.
