Lydia Frances Pryor, 91

Together Again

EAST LIVERPOOL — Lydia Frances Pryor of East Liverpool passed away at the East Liverpool City Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016 following a brief illness.

Born in Wellsville on April 3, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Frederick Aquilla and Frances Rice Jeffrey Holcomb, and granddaughter of John Hunter Jeffrey and Lydia Frances Rice Jeffrey.

In all of her 91 years, Frances was never one to be idle. She had been associated with several area banks as a teller, including Diversified Savings and Loan in Chester, and the First Choice Credit Union in Chester before retiring from the Northern Hancock Bank in Newell. She kept busy with several fraternal organizations, Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine, Rebecca’s, and the Social Order of the Beauceant. Also she was a 1943 graduate of Wellsville High School and she was a member of the First Church of Christ Disciples in East Liverpool.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her son, Mark McDonald on Jan. 16, 1987 and her husband, John W. Pryor Jr. on Feb. 17, 2010.

Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca McDonald Oyster and husband Dan of Chester and Vickie McDonald Brown of East Liverpool; three grandchildren, Tracey Nagy and husband Lou of Chester, Todd Bemis of Newell and Shawn McDonald; great grandchildren, Christina Bemis Kenyon, Andrew M. Bemis, Katlyn Nagy, Lucas Nagy, and Bridget Bemis; and great great grandchildren, Arianna, Celia, Clara Frances, and Chayenne. She also leaves three special kittens, Napoleon, Josephine, and Cinders.

Rev. Alan C. Boone will conduct services at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Friday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday when they will be present 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Private interment will take place at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
