Frances I. Ealy, 91

DANVILLE, Pa. – Frances Irene Higgins Ealy, 91, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa. Frances had resided in that area for the past eleven years to be closer to family there. She was born in East Liverpool on Jan. 12, 1925 and had always been proud to call it “home.”

A daughter of the late Homer Elroy Higgins and Princess Dewie Gilkison Higgins, she was a 1942 graduate of East Liverpool High School. She had been a hand liner at Hall China prior to her marriage to Ralph P. Ealy on April 25, 1944. But mostly she was a loving and devoted homemaker who thoroughly enjoyed being surrounded by her family especially after the great-grandchildren came along.

Ralph preceded her in death on June 20, 1999. She later relocated to Columbus, Ohio, before moving to Danville with her family in 2004. While in East Liverpool, she was a faithful member of Boyce Methodist Church. She enjoyed her friendships in the LG Club (“Lucille’s Girls”) and was the last living member of the club. Frances later attended Northside Community Church.

Surviving are her two daughters: Penny Charlton and her husband, Don, of Danville; and Tyra L. Ealy and her partner, George Murphy, of Cortland, Ohio.

Frances also leaves behind one grandson, Brandyn Charlton and his wife, Danielle, of Northumberland, Pa., as well as three great-grandchildren, Cora, Clare and Liam Charlton. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews: Leslie Ann Higgins Brown, Judy Goldberg, Joyce Drake, Bill Reed, Harold Reed and Sandy Griffith.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Calvin Higgins, and her son-in-law, Dale Manofsky.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home, with Pastor Alvin Talkington of Boyce Church officiating.

Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Burial will take place at Calcutta Cemetery.
