Norman N. Brown, 90

WELLSVILLE- Norman N. Brown beloved father and grandfather, passed away at age 90, on May 22, 2014 at 10:35 a.m., in Mesa, Ariz. where he had resided with his daughter, Joyce Henderson for the past five years. Norman, a previous resident of 856 Aten Ave., Wellsville, Ohio, moved to Ariz. in 2009 where he enjoyed the sunshine and warm weather. Norman loved to travel and enjoyed seeing new places. His favorite past time was critiquing the golfers from the patio where he always gave a friendly wave. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 2082 and loved to listen to the bands on Saturday Night and was lovingly referred to by all as “Dad.”

Norman was born in Fly, Ohio, April 2, 1924, the son of the late John and Bessie Brown.

Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth June Brown in April 1996. whom he had been married to for 50 years and a son, James Brown who passed July 2005.

Survivors include two children, Joyce Henderson of Mesa, Ariz. and Eddie Brown of Warren, Ohio and a sister, Ann Wright of Chester W.Va. Norman had seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Norman served in the Army in World II from 1943 -1945. He retired from Youngstown, Sheet and Tube as a millwright worker in 1983.

Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel at Spring Hill Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. where the Tri State Burial Group will accord full military honors. Following the services, there will be a reception held at the V.F.W. in Wellsville. Theses arrangements are entrusted to the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes.
