Norman Dale Hudson Sr., 72

BELTON, Mo. -Norman Dale Hudson Sr., 72, of Belton, Missouri, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2014.

Born Aug. 26, 1941, in Cameo, W.Va., he was the son of the late Elihu and Lenna (Gundy) Hudson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Wesley Hudson, and a sister, Ellen Goulph.

He was a former mechanic for Selker Brothers.

Norman was the lead singer and guitar player for the southern gospel group, “Before The Flood After The Fire.”

Surviving are his two sons, Norman D. (Patty) Hudson Jr. of East Liverpool and Johnathon Hudson of Missouri; six daughters, Jennifer Lynn (Todd) New of Youngstown, Melissa (John) Mercer of Missouri, Shauna Lee Houser of New York, Shaw Marie (Raymond) Houser of New York; Norma Ann Glendenning of East Liverpool and Theresea M. (Matthew) Basbinder of Maryland; 29 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, James Adkins of West Virginia, Buster Adkins of Michigan and Vicky Wooley of East Liverpool; five brothers, Dana Hudson and Larry Hudson of Irondale, Curly Hudson of West Virginia and Dwayne Hudson and Jimmy Hudson of Ohio.

Visitation will be held Friday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, W.Va., where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014. Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park in East Liverpool, Ohio.
