TORONTO – Joel Thomas Lamantia, age 68 of Toronto, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2014 at the Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, surrounded by his family.
He was born July 7, 1946 in Steubenville, the son of the late Joseph T. and Rachel A. (Dallas) Lamantia.
Mr. Lamantia was a 1964 graduate of Toronto High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a self- employed barber, owner and operator of Joel’s Barber Shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Elizabeth (Lake) Lamantia; sons, Chad Lamantia of Follansbee, W.Va. and Jay Metcalf of Austin, Texas; daughter, Kara Metcalf of Chicago, Ill.; and one granddaughter.
Visitation hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28 at the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto.
Memorial service to be held at 8 p.m., Thursday at funeral home, with the Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti officiating.
