COLUMBIANA – Edna Gertrude Hazel, 89, of Whispering Pines, Columbiana, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014, at the Salem Regional Medical Center.
Born in London, England, Aug. 28, 1924, she was a daughter of the late William Philpot and Lillian Smith Philpot
She was a member of the Lisbon Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a housewife.
Her husband, Lester Eugene Hazel, preceded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Marilyn Trares of Gavers, Mary Ellen Chuey of West Point, Marsha Detwiler of Gavers, and Julie Ypparila of Montana; a son, Lester Ernest “Butch” Hazel of Mexico; a brother, James Philpot of England; and 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted by Brother Allan Foster at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at the Lisbon Ohio Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, state Route 45 and Hunters Camp Road just north of Lisbon.
Services were completed by the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial was at Riverview Cemetery.
