Beverly Jean Langer, 85

EAST LIVERPOOL – Beverly Jean Langer, cherished wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunset Lane in East Liverpool late Tuesday evening, Aug. 5, 2014. She was 85.

Born in Saginaw, Mich., on Oct. 16, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Norvin and Mary Fassezke Moulton.

Beverly was a 1946 graduate of Utley High School and had worked at A.C. Spark Plugs, Chevrolet Motor Company and St. Joseph Hospital in Flint, Mich., prior to her marriage to Herman Frederick Langer, Sr. on July 1, 1950. The couple came to the East Liverpool area with their family when her husband became associated with the Ben Feldman Insurance Agency.

A faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church, Beverly loved attending church every week – not only because her faith was so important to her, but also because she enjoyed giving hugs to all she encountered there. She was a familiar face at the East Liverpool City Hospital, where she had been a surgical hostess for many years. She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Michigan Wolverines. Known for her impeccable style, she remained classy and down-to-earth all at the same time, treating everyone with kindness and respect.

Her beloved husband, Herman, survives at home.

Beverly is also survived by two daughters and one son: Deborah K. Borato and her husband, Ron, of Nokomis, Fla.; Michelle “Missy” Marie Langer of Virginia Beach, Va.; and Herman F. “Fred” Langer Jr. and his wife, Kim, of East Liverpool. There are three grandchildren: Anton F. Langer of Salem, Stephanie N. and Casey L. Garner, both of Nokomis, along with a sister and a brother, Geraldine Viers and Norvin Moulton, both of Michigan. Beverly is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved, and her “spoiled” cat, Tiger.

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Lois Hostler and Jackie Chonoski.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friends may also pay their respects to Beverly at the St. John Lutheran Church one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, with the Rev. Eric M. Edwards of the church officiating. All are welcome to join the family for a continued time of fellowship at the church, following the burial.

Beverly will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
