Robert ‘Mark’ Scott, 63

COLUMBIANA – Robert ‘Mark’ Scott, 63, of Columbiana, suddenly passed away Monday, June 30, 2014, while vacationing with his family in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

He was born to Dorothy Scott and the late Smith Scott Jr., Jan. 04, 1951, in East Liverpool. Spending all of his life in Northeast Ohio, Mark graduated from Beaver Local High School in 1969. He married his wife and best friend, Elizabeth (Williams) Scott in 1969.

Mark was employed by General Motors before his retirement. He spent his retirement being an avid Pirates and Steelers fan. He enjoyed watching sports with his family, never missing a Pirates game with his wife. He also was a music lover and enjoyed playing the guitar.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Elizabeth. Together they courageously fought Mark’s battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Many hours were spent playing games like dominos and backgammon, sharing thoughts, and simply enjoying their love for each other.

In addition to his wife and his mother, Mark is survived by his two children: Madgel and her husband Matthew Rickert, of Austintown; and Lael and his wife Heather Scott, of Columbus. He is also is survived by five grandchildren: Austin and Kaden Scott, Zane and Mason Burbick, and Marcus Rickert.

He is preceded in death by his father, Smith Scott Jr., and his brother, Thomas Ray Scott.

An informal celebration of Mark’s life will be held at his residence on Saturday, July 19, from 4-8 p.m. Friends and family are encouraged to come and pay tribute to Mark.
