EAST PALESTINE – JoAnne Armus-Sugar, 87, of state Route 165, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the Salem Regional Medical Center, where she had been a patient for the past six days.
Born April 7, 1927, in Darlington, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Curtis and Frances Harper Berresford. She had owned and operated a beauty shop in the East Liverpool area.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Armus, and later Arthur Sugar.
Survivors include a stepson, Michael Armus of Baltimore, Md.; two grandsons; three sisters, Marlene England, Delores Cope, and Madeline Claypool; and one brother, James Tusar, all of East Palestine.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford, with Philip Smith officiating. Arrangements were with the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home.
