WASHINGTONVILLE – David Merle Walker, 57, of Washingtonville, died early Thursday morning, July 24, 2014, at home.
He worked with American Red Cross as the first response on disasters in the area.
Born in East Palestine in 1957, he was the son of the late Lucinda and Merle Walker. He was a 1974 graduate of East Palestine High School.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Kay Shasteen-Walker; children, Sarah Crawford of Proctorville, Ohio, Philip Bertram of Washingtonville, Sherrie Bertram of Massillion, Samantha Bertram of Kensington, Sam Shasteen Jr. of San Diego, Calif., Christopher Shasteen of Hammondsville, James Shasteen of Washingtonville, and David Whipkee of Minerva; and 25 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service is 8 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem, with the Rev. R. Jim Smith, chaplain, officiating. The burial is private.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
