Amanda C. Merriman, 84
CANFIELD – Amanda C. Merriman 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home in Canfield, Ohio, on Monday, July 28, 2014 following a brief illness.
She was born in Chester, W.Va. on Dec. 13, 1929 a daughter to the late John F. and Eva (Wilson) Baumgarner. She was a graduate of Union High School and was self employed as a Notary Public and Water Craft Agent. Amanda was also a member of Living Well Church in Wellsville and enjoyed doing crafts.
She is survived by five sons: Dan (Linda) Merriman of Fort Myers, Fla.; Timothy (Susan) Merriman of Canfield; William (Nancy) Merriman of Punta Gorda, Fla.; John (LaDonna) Merriman of Wellsville; James (Sherri) McKinnon of East Liverpool; one brother: Allen Baumgarner of Midland, Pa.; two sisters: Juanita Cebulak of Youngstown and Lorena Dee Gruver of Boardman; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry E. Merriman whom she married June 7, 1948; one son: Clarency Peterson; nine brothers and one sister.
Services will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Church officiating.
Family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 3 p.m. up until the time of the service.
