WELLSVILLE – Rosalie Mey, following an illness of a year and half, passed away in the comfortable surroundings of her own home and in the accompaniment of her loving family on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.
Eighty years old, Rosalie was born in Pomeroy, Ohio, on Jan. 27, 1934, to the late John and Faye Davis.
Rosalie retired after working in various positions for 27 years at National Church Supply in Chester.
A member of the Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church, she was a member of Eastern Star Lodge 28 in Wellsburg, W.Va.
Rosalie leaves her husband, George C. Mey; her children, Karen Starkey and husband Jim, and Bruce Mey and his fiance, Dee Rubsam; her sisters, Mary Simms and husband Bob, and Nedra Butcher; brothers, Bob Davis and wife Mary, and Larry Davis and wife Betty; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steve Mey; her daughter, Gretchen Price; and her brothers, John and Charles Davis.
Memorial contributions may be made in Rosalie’s name to the Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church.
She is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester and a memorial service is being planned for a later date. She will be laid to rest at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
