Pearl N. “Patty” Hayes, 68

CHESTER-Pearl N. “Patty” Hayes, 68 of Chester passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 in the comfort of her home with her loving family and friends at her side, as they have been throughout her difficult and courageous battle with cancer.

Her parents were the late Anthony and Pearl Kapstinski Caruso, and Patty was born in Paris, Pennsylvania on Dec. 24, 1945.

She was a member of the Chester First United Methodist Church, and she was a tax representative for Valu America and Nationwide Appraisals.

Patty graduated from Weir High School, and she enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels.

Preceding her in death were her husband, John Hayes and her brother, Ross Caruso.

Patty’s loving family includes her children; Terri Stoffel and husband George and Johnny Hayes and wife Angel of Chester; her grandchildren, Seth and Kenzie Hayes; her sister, Mary Rose Mayhew of Portland, Ore.; and her brother, Johnny Caruso and wife Zelma of Weirton.

Her pastor, Kara Rowe of the church will celebrate Patty’s life on Monday, June 9 at 11 a.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester and interment will follow at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester. Friends are invited to join the family at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon and evening from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m.

The family would like to give a special thanks to their neighbors, especially Mark and Toni Snyder for their love and support during this very trying time.
