EAST LIVERPOOL – Mabel Lucetta Reed, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at the Assisted Living Ministries on Saint Clair Ave. in East Liverpool after an extended Illness.
Born in East Liverpool on Dec. 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Martin Amberry and Leona Mae (Dornon) Brown. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School, Class of 1946. Mrs. Reed was employed as Chief of Facilities in the Right of Way Department for Southern California Edison before moving back home after her retirement. She attended the First Christian Church of Wellsville, was an ordained Minister through the Western Evangelical Association and was Pastor of the Masters Table.
Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband, James Donald Reed.
Survivors include two sons: Jay Donald Reed and Mark David Reed both of East Liverpool; a daughter, Deborah K. Gilson of Etiwanda, Calif.; two brothers: Daniel D. Brown of Redlands, Calif.; Philemon “Dornon” Brown of Antioch, Ill.; sisters: Helen Hargreaves of Banning, Calif. and Violet “Gay” Meslovich of San Clemente, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes, with Pastor Mark Blakeley, officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana County Memorial Park.
