Felix Makowski

DARLINGTON, Pa. – Felix Makowski, 97, of Georgetown Road, passed away 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Salem Regional Medical Center where he was taken after becoming ill at Covington Community Campus, East Palestine, Ohio.

Mr. Makowski was born August 27, 1916 in Beaver Falls, one of eight children born to the late Frank and Mary Makowski. He was a World War II Army Veteran and had been employed at the former Babcock & Wilcox East Works of Beaver Falls, prior to his retirement.

He was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church of Darlington.

His wife of over 50 years, the former Alice Mae George, survives him as does two sons, Ronald Makowski of New Waterford, Ohio and Wesley Hays of Delaware, Ohio; a daughter, Sandra Hardcastle of New Waterford, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, OH. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Negley.
