Rodney Perenovich, 80

EAST LIVERPOOL – Rodney Perenovich, of Myler Road, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver, Pa. He was 80.

Born in Midland, Pa., April 24, 1934, he was a son of the late Peter and Susie A. Milovich Perenovich. A lifetime area resident, he worked for the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office as a dispatcher and jailer until his retirement in 2000. Rodney was a member of the Midland High School Class of 1952.

He was a member of the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars. In the military, he worked as a missile tech analyst, and a hydraulic and refueling mechanic. He retired from the military after 21 years of service.

A member of the Northside Community Church, he also held memberships in the American Legion, Association of Air Force Missileers, and the Air Force Memorial Foundation.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Miles Perenovich. The couple married July 21, 1956.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie S. Shaw of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a son, Rodney T. Perenovich, and his wife Tauna Cypher Perenovich, of Coraopolis, Pa. There are three grandchildren, Scotty Shaw, Emily Everly and Joshua Perenovich; and three great-grandchildren, Alexis Everly, Anthony Everly and Logan Price.

He also leaves behind a brother, Max Perenovich, and his wife Kathy, of New Brighton, Pa.; as well as two sisters, Ethel Radella, and her husband Michael, of Cranberry, Pa., and Patricia Shorak of Industry, Pa.

Friends may visit Friday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Saturday. Pastor Larry Rose of the church will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
