Edward Gabriel Gula, 47

EAST LIVERPOOL – Edward Gabriel Gula, 47 of East Liverpool, formerly of Ohioville, died May 3, 2014 in East Liverpool City Hospital. Born Sept. 24, 1966 he was a son of Dorothy Zernich Gula, Midland and the late Frank L. Gula in 1982.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Gula; grandparents, Kathryn “grampsy” and Theodore Kominitsky, nephew, Randy Dunn and his Aunt Betsy Adkins.

A veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy, he was a graduate of Western Beaver High School, he received his criminal justice degree in Florida, where he had been employed as a teacher’s aide. Ed enjoyed fishing and coaching football. He worked with children and had been a foster parent. Ed was a good son, father, brother and uncle. He was really looking forward to becoming a first-time grandfather.

In addition to his beloved mother, Ed is survived by a son, Nathaniel Gula and a daughter, Natasha Gula, of Florida; brothers, Randy Dunn, New Brighton; Frank Gula, East Liverpool; sisters Mary Gula, East Liverpool; Kathryn Moreira, Washington, Pa.; JoAnn Gula, Aliquippa, Tammy Gula, Midland. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunt Kathryn Todd and so many dear friends. He also leaves behind his dog, Priscilla and cats, Mutcka and Cuddle Bug.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. and 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. in the D.L. Williams Funeral Home, 848 Midland Avenue, Midland.

The American Legion Post 481 Honor Guard will present military rites.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family, through the funeral home.
