Charles D. “Bruz” Elliott, 80

EAST LIVERPOOL – Charles D. “Bruz” Elliott, of East Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Health Center with his loving family by his side. He was 80.

Born in East Liverpool, Sept. 9, 1933, he was a son of the late Charles Monroe Elliott and Etheleen Fryett Elliott. A lifetime area resident, he was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1951 and worked as a machine adjuster for American Paper Products until retiring in 1996. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1961. “Bruz” enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and following his grandchildren’s sports activities.

He is survived by a daughter, Catherine Burcham, and her husband Pete, as well as two sons, Charles E. Elliott, and his wife Missy, and Brian D. Elliott, all of East Liverpool. Four sisters also survive, Ruth Bulmer, Winifred Dailey, Jeanette Lawson and Suzanne Smith, along with a brother Kenneth Elliott. He also leaves his companion, Ann Sisley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister Nanette Jean Elliott.

There are eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit Friday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Pastor Dirk Hall will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park where the Tri-State Veteran’s Burial Group will conduct military honors.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
