Adella M. “Dud” McKinney, 88
WILLOUGHBY, Ohio – Adella M. “Dud” McKinney, 88 formerly of Chester, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Willoughby Manor where she had resided for several years.
She was born in Chester on Nov. 17, 1925 to the late George R. and Gertrude E. Miller McKinney.
Dud moved from Chester to the Cleveland area in 1959 and retired in 1982 as a supervisor for Ohio Bell where she had worked for 35 years.
She was a 1943 graduate of the former Chester High School and she was a member of the Chester First United Methodist Church and the Telephone Pioneers of America, North Kings Berry Chapter.
In addition to her parents, her brother, Charles “Chuck” McKinney PH.D preceded her in death.
Surviving is her life companion of many years, Janet English of Willowick, Ohio; her brother, Dean McKinney and his wife Jo Ann of Chester; her nieces, Marci (Scott) Salyers, Deanne (Lance) Hooper, Jodi (Doug) Comm, all of Chester; Robin Kingsbury and husband Peter, and Shannon (Aida) McKinney, both of New York, N.Y.
In fulfilling Dud’s wishes, immediate burial took place on Thursday at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell where a private grave side service will take place today.
The Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester is assisting the family with these arrangements.
