Doris A. Crook, 81
CALCUTTA – Doris A. Crook went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh at the age of 81. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 11, 1932 a daughter to the late Charles H. and Verna (Smith) Berry. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Dayton in June of 1950. After graduation she was employed at Wright Patterson AF Base as a receptionist and secretary. She lived most of her life in this area and was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wellsville and was a member of the church choir. She was also a member of The Ladies Auxillary of VFW 5647 and the Methodist Women and Golden Reapers.
She is survived by three sons: Lee W. Crook, III and his wife Deborah of Fort Worth, Texas, Randy L. Crook and his wife Patty of Wellsville, Ohio and Lincoln S. Crook of Phoenix, Ariz. ; two daughters: Sheree Carter and her husband William of Wellsville, Ohio and Amy L. Hardman and her husband Jamie of Wellsville, Ohio; one sister: June Sweitzer of Michigan, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lee W. Crook, Jr.; a son: Daniel E. Crook ; a sister: Wilma Garrett and a brother Charles H. Berry Jr.
Services will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Friday, April 18, 2014 at noon with Rev. Dr. Steven Cramer of the church officiating.
Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
Family will be present to receive friends at the Wellsville Chapel on Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m.
