COLUMBIANA-Carl “Rich” Arthur, 83 of West Salem Street, formerly of East Palestine and New Waterford, passed away at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Northside Medical Center, Youngstown, where he had been a patient for the past six days.
Mr. Arthur was born Nov. 12, 1931 in Ironton, a son of the late John and Minnie L. Morrell Arthur. He had been employed as a driver with area companies, having last driven with Extreme Trucking. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, the former Vivian Gorby. He also leaves a son, Cliff Riley of East Palestine, and two daughters, Ginger Hillenbrand, Sidney, and Becky Burns, East Palestine. In addition, six grandchildren survive and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, with a funeral service at the end of visitation with Robert J. Helbeck of the First Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.
