Billie “Bill” Staley, Sr., 73

NEW CUMBERLAND-Billie “Bill” Staley Sr., 73, of New Cumberland, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014.

Born July 30, 1940 in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was the son of the late Jackson and Mildred (Hoffman) Staley.

Bill was the owner/operator of Staley’s Hardware and Rental and he was also a driver for the Hancock County Senior Center and he was a retired steel worker from National and Weirton Steel.

He was a member of the New Cumberland Lions Club and a member of the New Cumberland Christian Church, where he served as an Elder.

Surviving are his loving wife, Mildred “Midge” (Chenoweth) Staley of New Cumberland; three sons, Billie Staley Jr. of New Cumberland, Steven Douglas (Lisa) Staley of New Cumberland and Greg Scott Staley of Maryland; six grandchildren, B.J., Jessica, Chris, Taylor, Zack, and Chance; five great-grandchildren, Breanna, Khloey, Christian, Ashtynn, and Tripp; two brothers, Rick Staley of New Cumberland and Jim Staley of Weirton; and by a sister, Nancy McCallister of Florida.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, at the Nixon Funeral Home in New Cumberland, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Minister Rick Tinsky will officiate.

Memorial contribution may be made to the New Cumberland Christian Church.
