Thomas A. Beaver, 77

EAST LIVERPOOL – Former Lisbon Street resident Thomas A. “Tom” Beaver, 77, passed away following a sudden illness at 2:55 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 at East Liverpool City Hospital.

A son of the late Everett and Wilma Lutz Beaver, he was born in East Liverpool on June 3, 1936.

A U.S. Army veteran, he had attended East Liverpool High School before serving his country in Korea. He returned to the area and was associated with Homer Laughlin China for over thirty years as a ware boy.

Mr. Beaver had attended 1st Baptist Church at one time. He was a familiar face around East Liverpool, and was especially happy when “people watching” on the benches at Wal-Mart.

He is survived by his brother, Charles P. “Chuck” Beaver and his wife, Becky, of East Liverpool, along with his two sisters, Eileen White of Portland, Ore., and Suzanne Barrett of Riverside, Calif. There are several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, with whom he felt a special closeness, because he had no children of his own. He also loved caring for his many cats.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were two sisters, Donna Bennett and Suzette Beaver, and a brother, E. William Beaver.

Friends may visit the family at the Dawson Funeral Home, on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Norm Eckert of Beechwood Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery, where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct full military honors. Family and friends will then gather at the Dawson Family Center for a continued time of fellowship.
