SALEM – Robert A. Glynn, of New Waterford, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Salem Regional Medical Center. He was 89.
Born in East Liverpool, Nov. 16, 1924, he was a son of the late Frederick and Phyllis Allen Glynn and was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1942.
He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked at the former HK Porter Brickyard as an operating mechanic until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Klavuhn Glynn and a grandson, Ryan A. Stansbury.
He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Sheldon of Leetonia, and Jaci Berkheimer of Lisbon; two sons, Alan Glynn of Westmoreland, Tenn.; Scott Glynn of Rogers; three sisters, Phyllis Bishop, Alvera Paskell, and Naomi Fisher, as well as a brother, Donald Glynn, and his wife Betty; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Pastor Richard Jones of the Trinity Friends Church in Lisbon will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.
Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
Burial will be at Yellow Creek Cemetery.
