Joshua R. McCune, 29
LISBON – Joshua R. McCune, an avid outdoorsman who loved his family and his friends, passed away early Friday morning, Feb. 28, 2014, from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident on state Route 517, just west of East Fairfield. Josh, who resided on state Route 154, Lisbon, with his wife and young daughter, was 29.
He was born in East Liverpool on Nov. 27, 1984, a son of David and Nancy Carnes McCune of East Liverpool.
A 2004 graduate of Beaver Local High School, Josh was employed by STG Communications in Columbiana in cell phone tower construction and maintenance.
He was happiest when surrounded by his family, and when he was playing his guitar and listening to music. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and dirt bike riding, and also built and rode his own BMX bike.
He belonged to the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ in East Liverpool.
In addition to his parents, Josh is survived by his wife, Sarah Burns McCune, who survives at home. He also leaves behind his daughter, Cadance “Cady” McCune.
Also surviving is a brother, Brian McCune; along with his maternal grandmother, Mary Kay Schettler; and his paternal grandmother, Carol Perkins McCune, all of East Liverpool. He is also survived by his father-in-law Jim “Murph” Burns of Wellsville. Josh will also be missed by his dogs, Chase and Bella. He also leaves behind several nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald H. McCune; his maternal grandfather, Lawrence Carnes; and his mother-in-law, Georgeanna Burns.
Services will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday, with Evangelist Will Montgomery of the church officiating. Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park, followed by a continued time of fellowship at the Dawson Family Center.
Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
