Betty Lou Hurd, 83
SALINEVILLE – Betty Lou Hurd, 83, of Hazel Run Road, Salineville, died early Saturday morning, March 15, 2014, at Nentwick Care Center in East Liverpool.
Betty was born in East Liverpool on Sept. 25, 1930, a daughter of the late Amos and Nancy Shreeves Willis Sr.
Betty lived all her life in this area, graduated from Wellsville High School and became a nurse’s aide as well as working at Riverview Orchids in East Liverpool. She was Methodist by faith and enjoyed her grandchildren. She also liked to garden, to fish, and especially to run all around town.
Betty will be sadly missed by her daughter, Lisa (Greg) Martin of Rogers; six grandchildren, Susie (Bobby) Workman of Salineville, Jennifer (Chad) Bettis of Wellsville, Kelly (Michael) Dalrymple of Wellsville, Dustin Martin of Rogers, Laurie Martin of Hanoverton, Casey Martin of Lisbon; 10 great-grandchildren, Ryli Bettis and Callen Bettis of Wellsville, Liam Dalrymple, Devon Dalrymple of Wellsville, Brieonna Martin, Nevaeh Martin of Lisbon, Branden Digman, Sierra Kooser, Karleigh Kooser Zachary Kooser all of Hanoverton; three sisters, Donna Fricker of Florida, Nettie Stine and Sarah Parrish both of Salineville; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Hubbard in 1969; her second husband, H. Carl Hurd in 1988; one daughter, Deborah Martin; one son-in-law, Tommy J. Martin; two sisters Mary Jane and Wilma Lee; and three brothers, Robert, Amos, and Frank.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 19, at noon at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home in Salineville with Pastor Pat Smith of the Salineville United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
