Twila “Jackson” Seckman, 78
FOLLANSBEE-Twila “Jackson” Seckman, 78, of Follansbee passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014.
Born Jan. 2, 1936, in New Manchester, W.Va.; she was the daughter of the late Advil and Minnie (Kunh) Freeman.
Twila was the owner and co-operator of the former A & J Ceramics of Hookstown, Pa., for over 20 years. She was a member of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church and the Hookstown Fire Dept. Auxiliary.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Authur R. Seckman Sr., whom she married July 11, 1966, who died April 10, 1993; two grandsons, Christopher Jackson and Shawn Seckman; a brother, Vernon Freeman; and two sisters, Agnes Williamson and Betty Potts.
Surviving are seven sons, Robert (Shelli) Jackson of Toronto, James (Debra) Jackson of Chester; David (Kim) Jackson of East Liverpool; Timothy Jackson of Newell, Shawn Seckman of Pittsburgh, Arthur (Jean) Seckman of Hookstown and Bernard (Sue) Seckman of Vandergrift, Pa.; a daughter, Dottie (Elwood) Rouse of Sardis, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Herman (Audrey) Freeman of Lost Creek, W.Va.; and a sister-in-law, Betty Jean Freeman of New Manchester.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ramesh Thimmiah for his wonderful care. Also to Brightwood Nursing Center Aides and Nurses for six years of the most wonderful loving care and comfort given to our mother.
Visitations will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, W.Va., where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014.
Burial will follow at Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Hookstown, Pa.
