Judy May (Jackson) Cope, 50

EAST LIVERPOOL – Judy (Jackson) Cope, 50 of East Liverpool, was lifted up by angels on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2014, at home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 31, 1963, in East Liverpool, a daughter to the late Joe and Dorothy Jackson.

Judy began dating, the love of her life, Jeffrey E. Cope, at the age of 10. They were united in marriage on April 20, 1980, and have been happily in love for 41 years.

Judy lived her entire life in this area. Prior to becoming ill, she was the head custodian at LaCroft Elementary School. She had worked there for the past 23 years.

Judy is survived by her husband, Jeffrey E. Cope of East Liverpool; her three children, sons: Jason Jackson of East Liverpool, and Jeffrey E. Cope Jr. and his wife Ashley of Wellsville; and daughter: Tonya Cain and her husband Matthew of East Palestine; her grandchildren: Alexis, Courtney, Nicholas, Cameron, Jhase, Landyn, Abigail, , Liam, and Declan; six brothers; and one sister.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at noon with Father Robert Edwards of St. Paul Catholic Church, officiating.

Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park Cemetery.

Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta Chapel on Feb. 28, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
