James Walker

WELLSVILLE – James Richard Walker, 67, of Wellsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at home.

He was born Nov. 19, 1946, in East Liverpool, the son of James William “Bill” Walker of Newell, W.Va., and the late Velma Linda (Simmons) Walker.

He served in the United States Army until his retirement. He was a member of the Newell Glendale Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his wife, Susan (Hughes) Walker; three daughters: Tina Marie Brooks of Steubenville, Susan Marie Rodgers of Holdem City, Texas, and Danielle Marie Freeman of Wellsville; five sons: Philip Edward Walker of Calcutta, James David Walker, who is currently serving in the United States Navy, David Allen Walker of Salem, Christopher Jacob Walker of Wellsville, and Mark Anthony Freeman of East Liverpool; and one brother: Dennis Wayne Walker, Sr. of Follansbee, W.Va. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor B. Scott Henry of the church officiating.

Full military honors will be accorded by the Tri-State Burial Group.

Burial will follow in Shadow Lawn Memorial Gardens, Newell, WV.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
