Shirley K. Holava, 69

MIDLAND – Shirley K. Holava 69 of Midland died July 1, 2013 in her home following a lengthy illness. Born July 15, 1943 in East Liverpool a daughter of the late Creston and Luella Burton Green.

A member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Circle of Serbian Sisters, Board of Directors of St. George Tamburitzans and the Order of Eastern Star. She was a wonderful homemaker, mother and BaBa.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her cherished son, Peter N. Holava and brothers, Donald and Thomas Green.

Shirley leaves behind her beloved family, husband, Theodore Holava, Sr., children and their spouses, Ted, Jr. and Amy Holava, Ohioville; Sally and David Paliscak, Rootstown, Ohio; Mary Beth “B.B.” Holava-Diamond, Midland; grandchildren, Brittany, David and Pete Paliscak, Creston and Connor Holava, Ian Hunt; great-grandson, Logan David; siblings and their spouses, Barb and Don Shaw, East Liverpool, Bill and Delcie Green, Wellsville; Ann Sisley and Jolene Green, East Liverpool; Creston “Butch” and Darla Green Salem, Ohio; Mary and Dan Harris, East Liverpool; Mike and Pam Green, Irondale; Chuck Green, Minerva; Connie Green, East Liverpool; Donna and Jack Steffen, Alabama; Godchildren, Joann Biscan, Daniel and David Cronin, Sharon and Paul Livada; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in the D.L.Williams Funeral Home, 848 Midland Avenue, Midland, where a Pomen (Blessing service) will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Midland, with her pastor, The Very Rev. Stavrophor Fr. Milan Krstic.

Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Industry, Pa.
